Both people and ducks have died just from contact with the effluent in the tailing ponds. If a dam were to break The Athabasca river and the Beaufort sea would be dead. The dams run alongside the river. Although they are constructed to various 200 year weather events this risk is insane. We know that climate change is causing more freak weather events all over the globe.
The death of the Arctic Ocean is one freak rain storm away." |
